Resumen
Introducción: El ejercicio regular aumenta la sensibilidad a la insulina, mejora la aptitud cardiorrespiratoria, optimiza el control del azúcar en sangre. El objetivo fue evaluar si existen diferencias en los niveles de glucosa y lípidos después de una rutina de ejercicio físico en trabajadores en horario laboral de un hospital público. Pacientes y métodos: Se diseñó un estudio de intervención, prospectivo, analítico y longitudinal. Los participantes, realizaron ejercicios de 30 minutos diarios durante 12 semanas. Se tomaron muestras sanguíneas al inicio y al final de glucosa, HbA1c, colesterol total, LDL, HDL y triglicéridos. Se empleó el SPSS versión 24 para Windows, se empleó estadística descriptiva y tendencia central, frecuencias relativas y absolutas, pruebas de rangos de Wilcoxon para evaluar diferencias considerando un valor de p<0.05. Se emplearon gráficas y tablas para su interpretación. Resultados: De los 19 trabajadores incluidos en el estudio, 15 completaron el seguimiento, femenina en (73%) media de edad de 44,13 años. Los resultados de laboratorio iniciales mostraron niveles de glucosa, HbA1c, colesterol total, LDL, HDL y triglicéridos, que mejoraron significativamente después de la rutina de ejercicios. Las pruebas estadísticas (Wilcoxon) revelaron diferencias en glucosa, HbA1c, LDL, HDL y triglicéridos (p0.05), excepto en el colesterol total (p=0.11140). Conclusión: Los resultados muestran que 30 minutos de ejercicio mejoran los niveles de azúcar en sangre, hemoglobina glucosilada (HbA1c), lipoproteínas de baja densidad (LDL), lipoproteínas de alta densidad (HDL) y triglicéridos. Aunque los niveles de colesterol no cambiaron.
